Used to be a flawless game but now multiplayer has stopped working

I used to love this game and absolutely had no issues in playing multi player games with the world until few weeks back that now your multiplayer does nothing more than saying "CONNECTING" and then after 2 minutes simply says you timed out and goes to the menu.
